Cajon means "box" and that is just what this is. Tap it in the middle of the playing surface for a bass sound, up higher for a snare sound. 30.5cm high, 23cm wide, 16.5cm deep. A snare sound occurs at the top where the wood can be loosened by backing out the screws (1/8 turn each) Generally these cajons will make more snare sound the older they get and the more they are played. The original traditional cajons did not have snares, they were added by a flamenco musician in the 1970s.
