The PROFILE folding stand holds the guitar upright on the floor and collapses flat when it is not needed, which suits a classroom or a studio where the stand comes out for a session and goes away afterwards.

The EMUS wall mount holds the guitar by the headstock and takes up no floor space at all, which is usually the better answer in a small teaching room, a music office or a home where a stand would be in the way.

Both exist for the same reason. A guitar on a stand or a wall gets picked up and played, and a guitar in a case under a bed does not. They also stop the most common accident in a music room, which is an instrument leaned against a wall and knocked over.
