Collection: Xylophones

21 products

Xylophones for elementary music classrooms and Orff Schulwerk programs, available in soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Empire Music carries SUZUKI xylophones, made in Japan, and the EMUS range, in diatonic and chromatic configurations.

Wooden xylophones use rosewood or padauk bars and give the warm, woody tone traditionally associated with Orff instruments. Fibreglass xylophones hold their tuning through humidity changes and take daily classroom handling well, which makes them a common choice for shared rooms and instrument carts. Fibreglass models come in natural brown, white, and rainbow, where each bar is a different colour to help younger students find their notes.

Diatonic instruments arrive as a C major set with F♯ and B♭ bars included, which covers most elementary repertoire. A chromatic add-on brings the same instrument up to a full chromatic range later without replacing it, and add-ons are stocked for both current and older SUZUKI models.

Every bar lifts off individually, so a cracked or missing bar can be replaced on its own rather than retiring the instrument. Individual replacement bars, stands, cords and pins are available for the models here. Mallets are sold separately and sized by range, since a soprano and a bass xylophone need different weights.

B-stock xylophones, meaning display units or instruments with minor cosmetic marks, appear here alongside new stock.
