Soprano and alto instruments share a stand height suited to seated or standing play at desk level. Bass instruments need a lower, wider stand, both because the box is heavier and because the playing surface needs to sit at a comfortable height for a student standing over it.

SUZUKI stands come in versions for diatonic instruments and for chromatic setups, since a chromatic instrument with its add-on has a wider footprint. Reinforcement plates are available for the chromatic stand where a heavier instrument is carried.

Getting an instrument off the floor and onto a stand at the right height improves technique and takes strain out of a lesson, particularly for younger students.
