Collection: Ukulele Strings

29 products

Ukulele strings from Aquila and EMUS, in full sets and as individual strings.

The first thing to settle is tuning. C tuning, GCEA, is the international standard and what nearly all published material uses. D tuning, ADF#B, sits a tone higher and is still taught in many Canadian school programs, which is why we stock sets and singles for both. Check which your program uses before ordering, because the two are not interchangeable.

The second is high G or low G. A standard set uses a high G, which puts the fourth string above the third and gives the ukulele its characteristic re-entrant jangle. A low G set drops that string an octave, extending the range downward for melody playing and fingerstyle. Wound low G and low A singles are stocked separately.

Baritone ukuleles take their own DGBE set and cannot use standard ukulele strings.

Individual strings are sold in packs of ten, and there is a 30-pack of wound G. If you run a class set, singles are what you actually need, since students break one string at a time rather than whole sets.

A string winder is stocked here too.
