Octabands in eight, sixteen and twenty-four leg versions.

An Octaband is a circular stretchy centre with long legs radiating out from it, one for each participant. Everyone holds a leg, and because the centre is elastic, any one person's movement travels to everybody else. Pull, and the whole group feels it. Let go, and the shape changes.

That is what makes it different from a parachute or a plain stretchy band. The connection is visible and immediate, so a group that cannot yet coordinate to a beat can still play together and see that they are doing it.

It works seated as well as standing, which is the reason it turns up in seniors programs, care settings and adaptive classrooms as often as in early years music. A participant with limited reach or mobility takes one leg and is fully in the circle.

The eight-leg version suits a small group or a family. Sixteen covers a typical class working in a circle. Twenty-four takes a full group.
