Collection: Tambours à langues

SATORI steel tongue drums and rain drums, from three inch pocket size up to fourteen inch.

A tongue drum is a rounded steel shell with tongues cut into the top surface, each one tuned to a note. Played with the fingertips or with soft mallets, it gives a warm, bell-like tone that rings on for several seconds.

Every drum is tuned to a single scale, so there are no wrong notes. That is what makes it usable by someone with no musical background at all, and it is why these are a staple of sound baths, meditation, care settings and sensory rooms.

Sizes and tunings here run through six-note, eight-note and eleven-note models in three, six, eight, ten and twelve inch, in carbon and stainless steel, plus a fourteen inch handpan tongue drum and a pocket-size Cosmic drum in a choice of colours. The smaller drums are quiet and personal. The larger ones carry across a room.

Several are described as rain drums, because a slow finger roll across the tongues produces a falling, water-like wash rather than a distinct melody.
