Three-piece tubolo sets from Groove Masters Percussion, in tuneable and stackable versions.
A set gives a low, middle and high voice in one purchase. One player can move between the three, or three students take one each and hear their parts sit against one another, which is the more useful arrangement in a classroom.
Stackable sets nest inside each other, so all three store in the footprint of one drum. Tuneable sets have lugs at each head, so pitch can be set with a key and reset after the heads settle.
Tubolos are straight-sided tube drums with a single head. They speak higher and drier than a djembe, with a short note that cuts across a group rather than filling in underneath it, which is what makes a three-piece set audible as three separate parts.
Sets come in Ocean Blue, Caribbean, Baliku Chocolate and Abstract Orange, with composite shells and fibreskin heads throughout.
