This REMO drum comes with a one-of-a-kind Not-So-Loud (NSL) head. This produces a muted tone in comparison to the REMO Skyndeep® heads. NSL is a design that uses a standard drumhead with added damping materials or a specially designed mallet (called "NSL mallet") to significantly reduce the volume produced when struck, typically featuring a soft, spongy foam covered with durable fabric on the mallet head. These are primarily used for quiet practice situations where a lower volume is desired.

Inspired by Native American drums, this drum provides a great way for groups of youngsters to interact and play on one drum. They are even sturdy enough to be used as furniture!
