GMP Goatskin Frame Drum, 16" with Mallet - SHAMAN-16GS

This 16" goatskin frame drum / hand drum pairs a natural goatskin head with a lightweight meranti plywood frame. Designed for music and sound therapy, it is well suited to yoga and meditation, sound baths, drum circles, ceremonies and music education.

The head is laced across the back with rawhide, which forms a cross-shaped grip for holding the drum securely in one hand while playing. A padded mallet with a wooden handle is included.

Care

Natural hide responds to humidity and temperature. In damp conditions the head may loosen and the pitch will drop; placing the drum near gentle room warmth will tighten it again. Avoid direct heat, prolonged sun exposure and moisture. Each head is natural hide, and colour and markings vary from drum to drum.
