AirDrum is the Groove Masters Percussion line built around one idea: a vent in the base of the drum.

On a conventional djembe or tubolo the air leaves through the open bottom, so putting the drum flat on the floor smothers the tone. The AirDrum vent keeps a path open, so the drum still projects and still gives a full bass when a seated student rests it on the ground. In a classroom, where most students play with the drum on the floor rather than gripped between the knees, that changes what the room actually sounds like.

The line covers djembe-shaped drums and tubolos, which are straight-sided tubes rather than goblets, in rope-tuned and lug-tuned versions. Shells are composite and heads are fibreskin, so the tuning holds through damp halls and dry winter classrooms alike.

Stackable tubolos nest inside one another for storage. Three-piece tuneable tubolo sets give a low, middle and high voice for one player or three.

Finishes are Ocean Blue, Baliku Chocolate, Abstract Orange, Caribbean and Gold and Black. B-stock AirDrums and tubolos with minor cosmetic marks appear here alongside new stock.
