The drums that do not fit the usual categories, gathered together: Brazilian samba percussion, West African djun djuns and talking drums, Middle Eastern doumbeks, and a few odd ones besides.
The Brazilian side comes from IZZO and covers the caixa malacacheta, a shallow snare drum carried on a strap in a bateria, tamborims in ABS and aluminum with the double and triple prong sticks they are played with, aluminum and wood repiques, surdos in twenty and twenty-two inch, the tantan and the rebolo. A ten inch pandeiro batter head is stocked as a spare.
From West Africa there are GMP rope-tuned fibreglass djun djuns in three sizes, the bass drums played with sticks that hold the low pattern under a djembe ensemble, and talking drums from GMP and MEINL, squeezed under the arm to bend the pitch as they are struck.
The GMP fibreglass doumbek and MEINL darbukas cover the goblet drums of the Middle East, with their sharp ringing edge tone.
Also here: a GMP brass timbale pair with stand, a floor tom with legs, a wooden tongue drum, and the SUZUKI bass wood drum.
