Tenor ukuleles from THE CLASSIC, Ohana and PUKANALA. At around 26 inches the tenor is the largest of the three standard-tuned sizes and the one most performing players end up with.
The longer scale and bigger body give more volume, more sustain and a rounder low end, and the wider fret spacing makes fingerpicking and chord melody far easier than on a soprano. Tuning and chord shapes are the same as soprano and concert, though many tenor players use a low G string, which extends the range downward and changes the character noticeably.
The range here runs from mahogany laminate through solid tops to all-solid walnut with a slotted head. Cutaway models with three-band EQ and thin-line models with pickups are stocked for amplified playing.
The closed-back tenor banjolele is a different instrument in a tenor scale: a banjo body with ukulele tuning, much louder and sharper, used in trad and vaudeville styles.
PUKANALA tenors are supplied with a bag. B-stock and cosmetic seconds appear here alongside new stock.
