Promoting Wellness Through Sound

Music supports health and well-being by reducing stress, enhancing focus, and fostering emotional balance. Our instruments are trusted by therapists, educators, and sound practitioners across North America.

SATORI Sound Healing | Empire Music Co.

SATORI makes sound wellness instruments in the Japanese tradition: steel tongue drums, handpans, wind chimes and singing bowls.

The line is built around one idea. Every instrument is tuned to a single scale, so nothing played on it can be wrong, and the tone is warm and long rather than bright and short. Somebody with no musical background sits down and plays something that sounds intentional within a minute, which is exactly what a sound bath or a therapy session needs.

Steel tongue drums, also called rain drums, have tongues cut into a rounded steel shell and are played with the fingers or soft mallets. They run from a three inch mini and a pocket-size Cosmic model up through six, eight, ten and twelve inch, in six, eight and eleven note tunings, in carbon and stainless steel.

The twenty-two inch handpan is the largest instrument in the range, with a central low note surrounded by a ring of tuned fields, hammered rather than cut. A fourteen inch handpan tongue drum sits between the two families.

Eight-note wind chimes come in aluminum and bamboo, the bamboo tuned to seasonal scales. Singing bowls come in five sizes, supplied with a cushion and a mallet.

The aesthetic runs alongside the sound. These are finished as objects meant to be left out in a room rather than put away in a case.
