Bongos and cajons together, from Groove Masters Percussion, EMUS, NINO, REMO and MEINL.

These two often get bought as a pair because they cover opposite ends of a rhythm. Bongos are small, bright and quick, and they carry the busy high pattern. A cajon is a box the player sits on, giving a deep bass in the centre of the front plate and a sharp snare crack near the top edge, and it holds the floor underneath.

Bongos here come lug-tuned, so the pitch of each drum and the interval between them can be set with a key, and fixed-head, which never needs adjusting. REMO kids and Rhythm Club models are scaled for younger players.

Cajons come as bass-port models with a hole in the rear panel for a deeper low end, a pop-off napa head model supplied with a bag, and a junior size built lower so children can sit on it properly. Finishes include black, natural wood and four sarong patterns.

Also grouped here are the NINO bongo cajon, a small box played on the lap, and the Ohana bongolele, a concert ukulele built on a twin bongo body.
