Collection: Classic™ Ukulele

THE CLASSIC is Empire Music's own ukulele line, made in soprano, concert, tenor and baritone, plus a bamboo concert model.

The bodies are African sapele with laminate front, back and sides. Sapele is closely related to mahogany and gives a warm midrange with enough brightness to carry in a group, and the laminate construction holds up to classroom handling and to the humidity swings of a Canadian winter far better than a solid body would.

Every instrument ships with Aquila Nyglut strings, which settle quickly and hold pitch, and every one is inspected and set up by our in-house luthier before it leaves the building. That setup is the part that matters most on an instrument at this price: the action is checked and the nut adjusted so the ukulele plays in tune up the neck rather than only in first position.

The bamboo concert model is built from laminated bamboo instead of sapele, which gives a brighter, more focused tone.
