These Suzuki mallets are made for bass xylophone and metallophone, and are sold as a pair. The yarn winding is soft and the head is a little larger than the soprano and alto mallets, which is what lets the long bass bars sound fully instead of being struck into a knock. The handles are maple.
Suzuki builds one mallet for each voice: MAL-1 for soprano, MAL-2 for alto, this one for bass.
